Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS)
MCAS Results - Spring 2012
Students in grades 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 took the 2012 MCAS.
Highlights include:
- Overall, Boston Collegiate students scored higher on the 2012 MCAS exams than ever before. More and more BCCS students are moving from Proficient to Advanced as we continue to prepare for the Common Core State Standards and work to fulfill our mission of preparing all of our students for success in college.
- 100% of BCCS 10th grade students scored Advanced on the Math MCAS exam, marking a momentous time in our fourteen-year history and ranking BCCS as first in the state on this exam.
- Also, 100% of BCCS 10th grade students also scored Advanced or Proficient on the ELA MCAS exam.
- BCCS is the only public, non-exam school in the state in which 100% of students have passed the 10th grade Math MCAS for the past ten years. Moreover, over 99% of Boston Collegiate students have passed the 10th grade English MCAS over the past ten years.
- In comparison to Boston averages, Boston Collegiate students had a higher passing percentage on all 13 exams in all 6 grades – 10th grade Math and English, 9th grade Physics, 8th grade Math, English, and Science, 7th grade Math and English, 6th grade Math and English, and 5th grade Math, English, and Science.
